Here are some resources to help you develop and plan mission based programs and projects for your branch.
Leader on Loan
Kathy Thrush Shaginaw, Leader on Loan, lol@aauwpa.org
The Leader on Loan (LOL) program has offered branches the opportunity to have a state leader as a program speaker, with AAUW-PA covering the leader’s transportation costs.
The Branch Support Committee has proposed a transformation of the current Leader on Loan program to become a network of AAUW leaders who are not only willing to be speakers at a branch meeting but to help branches in a meaningful way.
For complete information about the Leader on Loan Program, go to the Leader on Loan page.

Association Program Development Toolkit
The AAUW Program Development Committee (PDC) has created the first phase of the AAUW Program Development Toolkit, a resource designed to assist program leaders in developing mission-based programming to meet the needs of their branch and state. These materials represent the first phases of program planning: understanding the value of mission-based programming and assessing both internal resources and interests and the external environment.

Resources from One Shared World and the Academy for Educational Development
Research shows that educating girls is one of the best investments in development. When girls are allowed to attend high school, fewer become teenage mothers or infected with HIV/AIDS and more join the workforce so incomes increase and economies grow. The issue is highlighted in two new online resources:
- A new 13-minute video, “Path to Promise: Girls Making the Grade,” in which AED follows two Ugandan girls who are defying the odds to attend high school. The flash video can be found at http://www.aed.org/News/Multimedia/Paths-to-Promise.cfm.
- A companion book, “Keeping the Promise: Five Benefits of Girls Secondary Education,” that makes the case for promoting girl’s high school education in the developing world. The PDF of the book can be found at http://www.aed.org/Publications/loader.cfm.
International Matters, a group of research papers to use for a presentation or discussion forum.
Let’s Read Math, a reading project designed for K-4 students. Training and materials are available in 08-09 through the West Chester-Chester County Branch. Contact Graham Boose.

Share a Program Idea
If you have done a program in your branch or have a program idea that you would like to share with other branches in the state, here is your opportunity. In an effort to make this process simple, a template worksheet has been included for your use which lists the relevant information that should be submitted with your program idea. An explanation of each section of the worksheet template is provided below so you know what kind of information you are requested to include.
