Reading Branch
AAUW's 125th anniversary was celebrated Sunday, November 12 by the Reading Branch with a High Tea/Membership Program at the Hendel Mansion, a Victorian mansion owned by the Historical Society of Berks County. Marlane Bruckenmiller, expert on the history, types and uses of tea, presented an educational tea tasting to over 35 members, guests and local book sale scholarship recipients.
Three varieties of teas were tasted along with the appropriate type of dessert to serve with each. 125th anniversary napkins and balloons added a special touch to the occasion that included a brief membership presentation by Pat Callahan, VP of Membership for the Reading branch.
A new branch display with a brief history of the branch, photos and table literature, created by Eleanor Hunt, immediate Past President of the branch, was available for guests and scholarship recipients to view.
