AAUW-PA Public Policy Impact Grant 2007-2008

AAUW-PA is a recipient of an Association Public Policy Impact Grant for Fiscal 2007-2008.  The goal of the grant is to help branches implement some of  the strategies outlined in Association’s Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout Manual to mobilize women voters in Pennsylvania for the fall 2008 election and beyond.

There are three components to the grant – summarized excerpts on topics from the Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout Manual, a listing of names and contact information for community organizations who could be collaborators in the efforts to mobilize women voters, and three regional training sessions (eastern, central and western PA) to further explore the strategies outlined in the Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout Manual.

Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout: A Manual for Community-Based Campaigns to Mobilize Women to Vote – Second Edition Free Download Available

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has released a second edition of its well-received publication,Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout: A Manual for Community-Based Campaigns to Mobilize Women to Vote. Thanks to critical donor support, this new tool is now available free online to both AAUW members and coalition partners who are making plans to activate women voters across the country this fall.

AAUW’sWoman-to-Woman Voter Turnout guides advocates step-by-step through planning a campaign, which includes recruiting volunteers, working with publicly available voter registration files to identify drop-off women voters in their community, and contacting those women through canvassing and phone banking. In addition to the manual, other online tools include nonpartisan voter guide templates, e-cards, position papers, and AAUW’sCongressional Voting Record for the 110th Congress, First Session.
